Maui and the giant fish
Three facts about maui from the legend maui and the giant fish.
1. Maui's brothers thought that he was useless and weak
2. Maui proved his brothers wrong when he caught the most giant fish.
3. Maui's fish turned into the north island
I didn't know that Maui wasn't always a God and that he was seen as weak.
Hi Tumanako!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you have joined us on the Summer Learning Journey these holidays and we hope that you enjoy doing the activities and blogging with us!
I like that you gave us some extra information about what you learned from reading the story. I also didn't know that Maui was seen as weak because we always hear about him doing strong things like fishing up islands and slowing down the sun. And on Moana, he has big muscles!
Well done on completing the first activity, keep it up!
Nicky :)

Kia Ora Tumanako,
ReplyDeleteThose are some great facts about Maui! Oh really? I didn’t know that Maui wasn’t always a God either! Can you tell me a little bit more about that?
I learnt something recently: Did you know Maui used the waves, water currents and stars to help navigate through the ocean! He could always figure out where he was. Pretty cool aye!
Keep up the great work!!

Kia ora Tumanako,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Emiely (pronounced “Emily”) and I work alongside Patricia at the Summer Learning Journey!
These are some awesome facts you have found about Maui. He certainly did prove his brothers wrong by fishing up a fish that turned into the North Island!
I haven't been fishing before, but I imagine it would feel great being able to catch your own fish. Have you been fishing before? Would you want to go fishing?
It is great to see you have made a start to the Summer Learning Journey! I know the Summer Learning Journey team have enjoyed reading and commenting on your blog. We can't wait to see what else you will blog!
